 Homework 1 Complete the conversation with the correct word or words in parentheses.

Riina: Hi, Carlos! Are you going on a vacation this summer? Carlos: Yes. I work a lot and my wife does (1) ______ (too / either). We look forward to our August vacation every year, (2) ____________ (even though / since) we never agree on where to go. (3) ______ (If / When) my wife chooses this year, we will go to Italy. She is learning to speak Italian, and she loves Italian food. I like these things too, (4) ______ (or / but) I want to spend my vacation hiking in the mountains. Riina: Well, what about Sicily? It is beautiful there, (5) ______ (and / but) you can hike around Mt. Etna. Sicily is an island, but it is part of Italy.
